September 12-23, Discovering Poland Our journey begins in Warsaw where we will take a city tour and stop at the monument dedicated to the Heroes of the Warsaw Ghetto. The next day we are off to Gdansk, stopping to see the Marlbork Castle, one of the largest in the world. We will stop at the Gdansk shipyard the site of the anti-Communist Solidarity movement. Take a guided tour of the town or an excursion to the seaside town of Sodok. We will then travel to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Torun and birthplace of Copernicus, the famous astronomer. The following morning finds us in Wroclaw for a walking tour of this ancient city. Krakow is next on our itinerary with a stop off in Czestochowa, the spiritual capital of Poland to see the Black Madonna. We’ll have a panoramic tour of this amazing city. We will also visit Auschwitz to learn firsthand the events that transpired here.
