Travel News for the Week of April 13

By April 13, 2025Blog

Hi everyone,

After years of delays, the Transportation Security Administration has finally set the date of May 7 to begin  enforcing the Real ID.  Beginning May 7, TSA will no longer accept state issued identifications that are not Real ID compliant.  Airline passengers 18 years and older must present a REAL ID compliant identification or another acceptable ID such as a passport, or be subjected to more screening procedures and expect delays. There is also the possibility of passengers not being permitted into the security checkpoint.-Travel Weekly

If you are looking forward to going to Disney World this summer, they will open both of their waterparks, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach,  at the same time which is the first time this has happened since 2019.-Travel and Leisure

One of the most important sites in Barcelona is the Sagrada Familia basilica. So many tourists are visiting this site that the city officials have designated a “selfie” area in front of the Basilica to try to reduce pedestrian congestion as well as allow Barcelona’s residents to reclaim their space from the throngs of visitors who  crowd the sidewalks and spill into the streets. The basilica is one of Antoni Gaudi’s most celebrated architectural works and draws as many as 16,000 people each day. –Travel Pulse
